Prepares and codes all Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, HMO/PPO, and Commercial remittances. Reviews, calculates and posts Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, and Managed Care contractual discounts. Post patient payments manually and electronically. Balances, batches, and posts remittances into HMS manually or electronically. Works daily in systems such as HMS, Document Imaging, Microsoft Outlook, SSI, and related web sites. Prepares documents for scanning purposes. Prepares folders for filing purposes. Balances and logs daily work in Batch Log book in addition to other duties as assigned by management.

Education:
High school education or equivalent with specialized knowledge obtained through high school or up to six months vocational education required.
Experience:
One to three years basic accounting experience, knowledge of insurance benefits and proration required. Experience in handling large sums of money. Three to five years experience in accounting experience desired. Knowledge of HMS, Document Imaging desired.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
