Senior RF Systems Engineer

GENERAL JOB
Summary:
This position is a highly motivated and self-driven Senior-level role that will focus on the design and integration of RF systems for next-generations RF communications and radar platforms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design and integrate systems for customer, ground-based RF platforms.
Manage hardware design and integration in collaboration with electrical, software, mechanical engineers.
Participate in team assemblies to analyze, develop requirements, and make recommendations for moderate to complex systems.
Assess customer-driven requirements and flow down solutions to the integration team.
Establish calibration procedures and control systems for maintaining systems over time.
Develop procedures and processes for operating modems and SATCOM links.
Run data collection exercises and acceptance testing.
Analyze and interpret performance metrics such as SNR and BER.
Troubleshoot issues using simulations and bench-top test alongside RF and Software engineers.
Document block diagrams, schematics, and performance analysis in reports.
Perform independent critical thinking and creative problem solving for experimental systems.
Prepare specifications for purchase of materials, components, and equipment.
Directly manage integration tasks of RF integration as well as indirect dependencies, involving software, power systems and mechanical systems.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Required
Qualifications:
US Citizenship required.
Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance at a level equivalent to Department of Defense (DOD) SECRET Master's degree with 5-10 years experience.
Expertise in modem operation and communication across radar or SATCOM assets Knowledge of LEO and GEO satellite constellations.
Experience with RF bands for SATCOM and radar operations.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) Experience modeling/simulating RF architectures.
Experience with RFOF systems.
Experience in programming modems and networking multiple RF systems.
Strong mathematical/analytical problem solving skills.
Ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated to continually expand knowledge and skills related to this position.

Perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
Sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.

Travel Moderate domestic (CONUS) travel required.
