Job Description To develop and implement strategic, operating and process improvement plans related to the Center for Patient Flow and efforts across UAB Hospital related to patient placement, transfer and throughput.
Develops and implements strategic, operating, quality, and process improvement plans specific to patient care, quality, and throughput.
Works with other departments to ensure quality care is provided and patient satisfaction is achieved.
Leads the identification of issues and trends; establishes accountability guidelines at the unit level and systematically across the hospital.
Collaborates with other Center for Patient Flow operational leaders, Directors and physicians on all departmental and hospital initiatives.
Effectively leads team problem resolution.
Solicits feedback related to patient flow operations.
Analyzes data for improvement opportunities and generates collaborative recommendations.
Serves as an ambassador for the CPF team on all departmental engagements.
Maintains effective relations and communications with internal and external group and customers.
Rounds on patients and staff.
Promotes satisfaction and compliance among groups and responds to needs regarding quality assessments.
Help coordinate weekly staff updates/meetings and huddle sheets.
Oversees the orientation and training of staff.
Evaluates performance during the orientation process.
Provides input for annual performance review as needed.
Develops standards of performance; educates and trains with regard to quality expectations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of relevant healthcare experience required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
