The Hospitalist Unit or Highlands 6 North is a brand new 24-bed acute care unit located at UAB Hospital-Highlands that will provide care to medical patients with a variety of acute care needsThis unit has been completely remodeled, and the improved design was influenced and driven by our nurses to meet the specific needs of our bedside staffUAB Hospital-Highlands combines the feel of a community hospital including small size, free parking, and neighborhood location with the same expertise and technology available at our flagship facilityUAB Hospital Medicine, or Hospitalist, was the first hospital medicine program in the state of Alabama and one of the first in the SoutheastThey provide care for the largest population of patients discharged from UAB Medicine.

Job Description:
To utilize the nursing process to care and/or counsel individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention of illness and injuryUsing a systematic critical-thinking approach to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation of human responses to actual and potential health problems through activities such as health teaching, health counseling and the provision of care supportive and restorative of life and supportive of a peaceful deathTo identify patient needs using the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Synergy ModelTo delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care provided to the patient, their family and our community in a timely and cost-effective mannerTo deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, their family and all members of the health care team and with the knowledge of a licensed physician, psychologist, podiatrist, and/or dentist.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
