Design Engineer and Drafting Position:
General Position Overview:
Design Engineer & Drafter is responsible for taking a P&ID or rough draft proposal and from it creating a 3D model of a liquid handling skid or barge assembly.
The Drafter will be involved in making SolidWorks drawings which may include metalwork, pumps, piping, motors, heat exchangers, tanks, instrumentation, and controls among other items.
Qualifications:
o Drafting experience is a must - SolidWorks proficiency is required.
o Ability to work calmly under time constraints on multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
o Work with project managers and estimators to properly design a pump package for a proposed project.
o Draw, update, and maintain designs.
o Reviews detailed equipment designs as compared to P&IDs and other design documentso Manage multiple complex design projects at the same time.
o Interact with the Fab Shop team to develop technical concepts, design constraints, materials of construction, manufacturing methods and codes as applicable.
o Generate an accurate conceptual design within the time schedule that meets technical and commercial requirements.
o Reviews and understands project requirements (specifications, standards, etc.
) to assist in designing the system.
Education & Experienceo Drafting experience and knowledge of SolidWorks is required.
o A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
