Engineering Technician with Security Clearance
Job Description General Summary This position is an entry level position who will work with a more experienced engineering technician until he/she is proficient in all routine tasksThis technician is responsible for performing varied but standardized tests and procedures using scientific techniques and methods; recording, analyzing, and reporting results; and working under oversight of the supervisor or a more experienced technician.Work may be checked in progress and technical accuracy is reviewed on completionKey Responsibilities Others may be addedo Perform standard, routine material characterization tests and related activities with the oversight of a more experienced engineering technician.o Set up test stations and maintain stations properly through calibration, preventative maintenance and repair.o Extract and process test data following well-defined methods and presenting the data in the required format.o Keep work area organized - apply 6S principles to assigned areas and actively assist lab supervisor in lab-wide implementationPosition Specific Responsibilitieso Apply basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization.o Conduct routine tests, analyze the data and document results.o Participate in systems integration, fabrication and modification tasks.o Provide support and assistance with systems pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post- test tear-down.o Work under direct supervision but may select from a variety of established procedures to accomplish tasks.o Setup digital data acquisition equipment.o Compute and combine data and report findings to supervisor.o Perform other duties as may be required by supervisorExperience and Skills Minimum Qualificationso U.SCitizen with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearanceo HS plus 2 years of experience in electronics, hydraulics and/or applicable military experience or vocational education, or Associate Degree in electronics, engineering, electrical field or a related disciplineo General knowledge of electronics, computers, instrumentation, and plumbingo Mechanical aptitudeo Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Preferred Qualificationso Associate Degree in electronics, engineering, electrical or a related disciplineo Experience in LabViewo Experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulics, welding or vocational education.o Strong electronics backgroundo Strong math skillso Data collection experience Job Specific Behaviorso Attention to Detail -Ensures details of assigned tasks are followed.o Attendance / Punctuality -Is consistently at work and on time.o Planning and Organization -Systematically identifies issues to be addressed and plans a course of action for self to ensure the accomplishment of specific objectivesWork Environment & Conditions This position is in a laboratory environment and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and protective shoesPhysical Demands In performing the work for this position, the Technician must be able to:
