Senior Software Engineer (Remote)
Description Flint Hills Resources (FHR, a Koch Industries company) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. FHR IT is undergoing a rapid transformation as we quickly adopt more modern platforms that touch on every aspect of our business. In this role, you will be a key part of this modern transformation. As a Senior Software Engineer for Flint Hills Resources, you will create value by leveraging your fundamental software engineer skillset to code our toughest problems and enable other software engineers to write rockin' code through mentorship. You will be a go-to resource for engineers to create modern, sustainable solutions that accelerate the realization of FHR's vision state of transformed work through the application of technology. By doing so, you will have contributed to FHR's competitiveness by enabling improved business work process performance and reduction of total cost. This role is open to local (Wichita, Kansas based) candidates AND remote candidates in locations within reasonable proximity to Wichita, Kansas, such as Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Kansas City, Corpus Christi, Dallas and Atlanta. We are also considering candidates near our Pine Bend, Minnesota refinery location. What You Will Do In Your Role:
Provide expert level software engineering execution in broad sphere of technologies to deliver high-quality solutions for FHR Mentor software engineers as the team's technical guru Accelerate the software engineering lifecycle by recognizing shared code opportunities Assist with technical design, architecture, and execution of solutions, leveraging best knowledge across multiple IT disciplines May include limited travel The Experience You Will Bring:
Minimum 4 years of software engineering experience or proven competency working with software engineering technologies. 1
years of experience working with database technology which could include SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, NoSQL, Graph (Neo4j), etc. What Will Put You Ahead:
Experience directing technical work and/or mentoring other software engineers. 1
years of experience with AWS serverless technology which may include AWS Lambda, SQS, CloudFormation, Cloud Front, Dynamo DB, RDS, etc. 1
years of experience with Typescript or JavaScript running in a Node.js runtime environment. Experience with design and architecture of custom-built applications within a cloud environment, preferably AWS. Experience working in an agile environment. Experience in learning and applying new technology and concepts. Experience in front-end development technologies such as React. Experience designing and implementing systems, integrations, and applications in AWS. Experience working with Graph database (Neo4j preferred) Experience with serverless framework or serverless stack This role is not eligible for employment based sponsorship.
