5K a year Description Serves as the first line responding sworn department member for accomplishing the department s mission and goals as they pertain to protection of life and property, the provision of patient health cares services in the hospital, and the provision of all other services required by UAB and the department.
Interacts with general public, fellow officers and outside agencies in the performance of duties.
Uses various software such as Microsoft Windows, Excel and other applications specific to police operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Protects life and property through the enforcement of laws & regulations; Proactively patrols assigned areas.
Responds to calls for police service.
Conducts preliminary and follow-up criminal and traffic investigations.
Conducts interviews.
Prepares written reports and field notes on investigations and patrol activities.
Emergency duties required during adverse weather conditions.
Operate a law enforcement vehicle under emergency conditions day or night.
Commanding emergency personnel at accident emergencies and disasters.
Takes an active role in Community Oriented Policing on campus.
Self-initiate traffic and/or criminal investigations.
Testifies in court.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Salary Range:
$20.
00 -$34.
30 Qualifications High School diploma or GED required.
Candidates who do not possess an Associate's degree or higher must also pass the Alabama Basic Skills Test administered by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) prior to APOSTC certification.
Certification by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) required.
Non-certified applicants must receive certification by an approved APOSTC Academy during probationary period.
Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
Candidates with APOSTC certification preferred and encouraged to apply.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
