Senior Medical Technologist - Core Lab (Chemistry/Hematology) Location Birmingham, AL Schedule - Shift - Hours - Days Full-time - Day shift - 8:
00 am - 4:
30 pm - M-F The Quality Officer will be responsible for oversight of the quality and efficiency of laboratory tests, products, and services in for the Core Laboratory.
The Quality Officer ensures the quality system essentials are in place and provides quality management training and education when needed.
Performs internal audits and facilitates regulatory/accreditation inspections in coordination with the Quality manager, and assists with proficiency testing.
Participates in root cause analysis, error and trend analysis, to identify opportunities for improvement, recognizes unusual results/outcomes that do not adhere to procedural or quality standards, and provide advanced troubleshooting to resolve discrepancies.
Responsibilities include review of daily QC, reviewing data for acceptability, precision and accuracy; performing procedures utilizing standard laboratory practices and instruments to make determinations of body fluids and substances to aid in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of disease; and to assist in the research, development or modification of laboratory procedures in coordination with manager and technical supervisor.
The Quality Officer maintains knowledge of theory and methodology for laboratory testing, troubleshoots instrumentation, and assists management by maintaining quality of instrumentation and test results; Assist with training and/or mentoring of new employees when needed.
Supports the laboratory's Quality Improvement (QI) plan; Assist in maintaining and monitoring Quality Assurance specific quality indicators; Assist in maintaining and monitoring all Quality Control/Quality Assurance Interlaboratory Reports for the Core Laboratory.
Education Bachelor's degree in a Biological Science required.
Experience Six years clinical experience in laboratory testing or with regulatory requirements for accreditation experience as a medical technologist - OR Holds a master's degree and four years clinical experience in laboratory testing or with regulatory requirements for accreditation experience as a medical technologist.
One year supervisory experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
