Vaco is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to take charge of the books for a growing Birmingham-based company. The accounting manager will report directly to the CFO and will perform general accounting and record keeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, monthly closing, cash reporting and other various reports. Experience with managing a team is a must.

Vaco is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to take charge of the books for a growing Birmingham-based company. The accounting manager will report directly to the CFO and will perform general accounting and record keeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, monthly closing, cash reporting and other various reports. Experience with managing a team is a must.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for the business
- Maintain daily cash receipts and disbursements and bank balances for multiple accounts and companies
- Create and record bank cash transfers and miscellaneous account activity
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Supervise AP invoice entry, reconcile and pay all vendors within terms
- Maintain customer billing and accounts receivable
- Code and record monthly credit card expenses
- Record payroll summaries in general ledger
- Prepare and file multiple state tax returns
- Maintain a monthly book closing and reporting schedule
- Generate financial packets and update budgets
- Communicate with owners and executive management about financial results
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a progressive accounting/bookkeeping role
- Extensive Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation
- Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and the ability to shift gears with ease
