Job DetailsMechanical Project ManagerWe are an integrated design build firm based in Birmingham, AL.
Our focus is on developing a differentiated delivery platform for healthcare construction.
We are a leader in delivery of health care facilities utilizing the Design, Manufacture, Construct (DMC) methodology.
DMC replaces the century-old, siloed approach of the Architecture Engineering and Construction Industry.
A major component of our platform is our in-house Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing trades.
Job Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical/Plumbing Project Manager to lead and manage our regional Mechanical and Plumbing work from Birmingham.
You will need to work with a high-level of ownership, be a sharp communicator and problem-solver, and lead projects with excellence from start to finish.
You will take ownership of the Mechanical/Plumbing value stream working alongside our Mechanical/Plumbing Superintendents, so strong vision and leadership are non-negotiables.
You will be responsible and accountable for delivering HVAC, Plumbing and related systems for our medical and commercial clients on schedule and within budget for each project.
You must be a doer that can seamlessly transition from being in the trenches to creating smart systems that continuously improve.
Role Expectations:
Support the HVAC and Plumbing Field LeadersBe an expert in the field of Mechanical ConstructionBecome a hands-on expert on our operational modelBecome adept at understanding and updating our Labor ModelBe responsible for short and medium-term labor planningWork with our PM team to smooth out labor for Mechanical and Plumbing self-perform teams to cause smooth manpower loading of our projectsWork to recruit and standardize training of new field talentBe responsible for the P&L related to the Mechanical/Plumbing workBe a strategic, rigorous, and disciplined outside-the-box thinker AND doerCommunicate complexity simply - verbally and in writingWork well with a team of smart contrarians in an entrepreneurial environment - think startup in a transparent, sometimes irreverent, open-office plan.
This role reports to the COOYou must have at least 7 years in Project Management for a Commercial Mechanical Contractor.
Preferably, you hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
