One of our clients, a large, publicly traded manufacturing company, is looking for an SEC Reporting Manager to join their team in Birmingham, AL. The SEC Reporting manager will be a key member of the accounting team, with exposure to many facets of the company's operations. This role will have a strong mix of responsibility and great future growth opportunities. A positive team attitude and the ability to effectively lead are both a must. Responsibilities include:
Manage the accurate and timely preparation and filing of SEC periodic reports (such as Forms 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K)
Present to senior management and the Disclosure Committee on a periodic basis on SEC reporting matters
Assists in technical accounting research and the preparation of supporting documentation, analyses and accounting significant issues memorandums for asset impairment tests, stock compensation, segment reporting, hedging & derivatives and other technical accounting matters as needed
Provides support for quarterly earnings release process and the annual Proxy statement filing as needed
Act as the subject matter expert for the company in the identification of and compliance with evolving SEC disclosure requirements
Assist in the quarterly review and annual audit activity of internal and external auditors
Assist in creating and maintaining Company-wide accounting policies
Assist as needed to ensure compliance with sections 404 and 302 of Sarbanes Oxley
Assist the month-end and quarter-end close process, including the preparation of financial statements and flux analyses
Prepare reports and other analysis for senior management, Investor Relations and the Audit Committee.
Qualifications:
CPA Certification is required
6
years' experience with a large public accounting firm, or combination of public and corporate technical accounting experience
Extensive knowledge of FASB/GAAP accounting and SEC regulations
Highly organized and deadline oriented, with ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong research skills and excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
Ability to communicate and coordinate with many departments within the Company, senior management and the external auditors. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
