Responsibilities There is an immediate opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated, and skilled individual to serve as business applications developer responsible for maintaining and enhancing mission-critical back office systems as well as providing cutting-edge, highly engaging customer facing solutions.
The individual in this position will contribute to the design, development, maintenance and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical and/or business knowledge to projects. They will collaborate with customers, staff members, IT colleagues, management and other stakeholders to define details detailed requirements and system interfaces, assess available technologies, and present and develop innovative solutions. Incumbents will act as internal consultants providing technical guidance and business process expertise on the most complex projects.
Provide technical expertise and assume primary responsibility for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical internal and external browser-based business application systems and websites Work closely with all internal and external stakeholders to understand business objectives and system requirements Maintain and enhance relational databases systems to ensure system performance is maintained at the highest levels and that data integrity is achieved Document designs and development work according to established documentation standards Develop unit tests to fully exercise application logic for each class, module and interface. Exhibit knowledge and experience in pragmatic application design and patterns. Must be experienced in design patterns associated with lightweight application architectures. Must exhibit high personal standards and design practices for developing applications and components that are clean, cohesive, decoupled and configurable. Candidates must be comfortable providing unit tests and documentation (in the code and outside of it) with each solution. Determine flaws in existing applications/designs and propose alternatives. Must be able to quickly identify the source of bugs, for example, and resolve them in the proper way Review and analyze business requests for product enhancements and make recommendations to management in addressing these requests. Participate with other IT members, customers, consultants, and other stakeholders in new product reviews, tests, and pilots Participate in code/peer reviews with desire to transfer knowledge and educate others on application development practices and overall functionality of developed solutions. On-call support and problem resolution of production systems will be required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
