Systems Technicians at Ascension Health are responsible for the installation and maintenance of servers. They test and evaluate servers to eliminate problems and make improvements. The Systems Technician may also be responsible for the maintenance of related equipment. The Systems Technician has demonstrated technical expertise, a record of successful projects and satisfied clients, an ability to understand and articulate customer needs, and a history of taking initiative.
### QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. 3 - 5 years experience associated with the technical support of Server Hardware, Windows OS or Novel or Linux or AS/400 or UNIX, and standard server applications such as monitoring, e-mail, virus protection, and terminal emulation.
3. Experience in a multi-user, multi-host environment
### RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Install operating system and base set of OS updates (such as Service Packs or Recommended Patch Bundles)
2. Register server names in internal DNS service
3. Stage provided office automation applications on network file shares for deployment to and network launch from desktops running Microsoft Windows
4. Install OS Releases, Upgrades, Updates and Patches
5. Apply new releases, upgrades, updates and patches to server administration support software to fulfill Change Requests
6. Execute software install procedure to load new software for infrastructure services, databases and applications to fulfill Change Requests
7. Install license keys or other licensing material as provided in Change Requests
8. Execute software update procedure to apply new releases, upgrades, updates and patches to infrastructure services, databases and applications to fulfill Change Requests
9. Restart server and/or infrastructure services to fulfill Change Requests
10. Restart server and/or infrastructure services when necessary to resolve an issue reported through Incident Management
11. Perform logical volume/drive disk maintenance activities, such as de-fragmentation and re-organization
12. Evaluate condition of application subscribed to high-availability support upon request from Data Center Operations to determine initiation of failover procedure, and approve initiation of failover if appropriate
13. Respond to initial report of server issue as reported through Incident Management, after escalation from Data Center Operations or Service Desk
14. Apply defined diagnostic procedures and identify situations where pre-defined corrective procedures are available to resolve an Incident, and execute procedure to attempt restoration of service
15. Initiate call to vendor support as appropriate, and manage contact with vendor through closing of incident
16. Escalate issues to third-line support as necessary

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
