Role:

Responsible for originating and/or processing mortgage loans according to established policies and procedures.


Essential Functions &
Responsibilities:

Originates and/or processes mortgage loans including, but not limited to taking applications, providing disclosures, prepares documents for the underwriting decision and completes closing packages.

Processes, underwrites and sell loans directly to Secondary Market Lenders by using DU and LP.

Works with branch staff in originating Secondary Market Loans.

Maintains on-line tracking system for mortgage loans in process.

Completes file maintenance and disburses checks as needed.

Does follow-up work to complete loan file for review by Quality Control Department and filming by Records Management.

Cross-sells appropriate credit union products and services.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. Meet or exceed the minimum established annual Secondary Market goals.
2. Produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts in a timely fashion with zero unresolved errors.
3. Provide friendly, accurate, professional service to all members and employees.
4. Develop and maintain knowledge of all mortgage products and rates within the credit union and from the mortgage industry.

Requirements


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education (1) A two year college or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills Must have good communication skills to discuss difficult loan decisions and mortgage products.
Must be familiar with and have the ability to use the PC and mortgage software systems to input application information and to create closing documents.
Maintain an organized work environment to track daily activities.
Accurate keying skills are required to complete legal documents.
Must be able to obtain and maintain mortgage loan originator certification as required by the SAFE act.

Physical Requirements Light lifting required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
