PRODUCTION CONTROL MANAGER
Birmingham, AL
DUTIES:
Supervises, establishes and coordinates production schedules for a metalworking plant.
Reviews and oversees each customer project requirements in regards to design, material and production planning. Design and implement replenishment strategies.
Manage and coordinate all Material and vendor requirements to meet production schedules.
Planning / Scheduling (Supervise Master Scheduler, facility Planner/ Scheduler and Outside Services)
Provide capacity plan estimates to Plant Manager and related departments.
Work with maintenance and production departments to schedule preventive maintenance
Manage Kanban and MRP/Scheduling system
Improve material utilization and inventory control systems.
Measure, track and report / improve relevant KPIs for the Scheduling function.
Conduct regular production meetings with direct reports and operations teams (daily/weekly)
Identify opportunities to shift/transfer project work to other company to avoid delays and meet deadlines more efficiently.
Manage, coach, evaluate, and develop direct reports, and ensure training needs and requirements are met.
Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of the position.
MUSTS:
4 year degree. APICS certification desired.
5-10 yrs of manufacturing experience.
Experience with planning, scheduling and inventory requirements.
Knowledge of metalworking, fabrication and machining processes desired.
Experience with MRP, Kanban and KPIs desired.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
