The Receptionist will provide support with daily activities of a busy cardiology practice including, patient registration/checkout, enter charges, and patient referrals.
This position exhibits total commitment to excellent customer service to ensure an outstanding customer experience. Greet and register patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner. Input and maintain new patient account information in computer system insuring demographic/insurance data is correct. Scan and index patients' drivers license and insurance cards into document imaging system as per protocol. Insure patients have obtained necessary required referral prior to their scheduled appointment. Record and track as appropriate. Maintain and update patient information data in computer and chart. Schedule and coordinate all return appointments for physicians and diagnostic testing. Confirm and reschedule return appointments, as necessary. Print daily schedules. Collect appropriate payments. Balance cash box and payment and adjustment sheets daily.
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 6 months medical or office experience with use of medical office systems required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Computer skills a must. Ability to prioritize and organize work area despite multi-faceted task directions and interruptions. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with patients, families, and physicians in a tactful, informed and customer service oriented manner. Demonstrated ability to work with as a team member to provide optimal levels of patient care. Demonstrates a professional attitude and appearance. Legible handwriting and phone etiquette is a must.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
