The Certified Principal in Charge will work with the team/ staff in maintaining and growing the municipal practice in the region. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated engineer/manager to join the team locally with support from one of the best qualified municipal consulting firms in the country to maintain and support growth in the Birmingham practice. Candidates must have an established track record of working with clients in winning and executing projects within the municipal sector of this region. The candidate will work directly with local leadership and be supported by strong senior staff on various projects. The candidate must have a proven reputation with area clients in successfully winning and executing projects and be comfortable in supporting Client Development and project pursuits in their role as a Certified Principal in Charge.
Responsibilities:
The core responsibilities will include both supporting client development and project pursuit efforts and the management and execution of various municipal engineering/ management consulting projects. Specific duties will include the following:
Lead local client development and project pursuit efforts
Lead teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations.
Manage and lead the growth and client relationships with all preferred clients.
Work with Senior Managers in developing scopes of work and budgets for various projects
Work with Project Manager to plan, manage, execute and deliver various engineering projects on time, on budget and to the performance expectations of the client.
Supervise and support the work of others
Mentor junior level technical staff
Position Requirements:
15 years of increasingly responsible experience in the planning, design and construction oversight of various municipal projects
Accredited Bachelor of Engineering Degree is required with a
Master's In Business Administration preferred, but not required.
Personal Characteristics (related to corporate culture):
Ability to successfully manage clients, lead pursuits and project teams in a collaborative fashion
Strong technical skills
Strong technical writing and communication skills
A successful track record of delivering various engineering projects to the expectations of the client

A comprehensive compensation package commensurate with the successful candidate's background and experience will be structured.
Relocation:
This position is to be based in the Birmingham, AL area and a comprehensive relocation package is negotiable for qualified candidates.
