Job Summary

This is a position in the Systems Administration and Integration Team in the Information Technology Department of Children's of Alabama (Children's).
The primary responsibility of this role is as the Administrator of clinical client/server application installations at Children's. The supported applications provide the core clinical functionality supporting patient care; including, physician documentation, nursing documentation, patient care ordering, medication ordering, medication administration, and observation and result documentation. Responsibilities will also include administering and supporting application custom desktop integrations and third-party event integration software. The successful candidate will evidence, through experience and education, an aptitude for administering complex client/server software installations in a Microsoft environment. Preferred candidates will be experienced with Allscripts installation support and/or other enterprise healthcare software installations.
Responsibilities include maintaining a thorough understanding of the architecture and environment of the installations, and the implications of change on the performance and functionality of the applications. Responsibilities also include coordination of change management, software and firmware installations and upgrades, development migration and deployment, internal and third-party software integration, and downtime planning and support. Associated responsibilities include supporting and facilitating the activities of the Children's development and training teams; as well as, liaising with vendor software support teams. Fulfilling the Administrator responsibilities will include monitoring and troubleshooting the delivery and performance of the applications in development, test, stage, training, and production environments.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Technology Management, or related Information Technology degree combined with three years experience in a similar role in a Healthcare Technology Department
OR
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Technology Management, or related Information Technology degree combined with five years experience in a similar role in a Healthcare Technology Department
OR
Seven years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role in a Healthcare Technology Department

Experience

Experience with administering an enterprise class client/server application installations in a healthcare environment with advanced process automation

Experience with administering an Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Solutions Suite Installation

Experience with Connexall event integration engine

Experience Experience with Citrix based application delivery

Experience with administering a Microsoft SharePoint installation

Experience with administering an application installation in a VM Ware virtual architecture

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory integration

Licensures, Certifications, and/or RegistriesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
