4371 - Interim Operations Manager - B2B

Interim Operations Manager required asap to lead the UK B2B and B2C sales operations of an international trading organisation supplying construction and home improvement products to retail outlets and other customers. The UK operation is relatively new and this role provides opportunities to develop the UK team and its interaction with UK customers.
Reporting to: UK MD and Ops Director in Holland
Location: Birmingham (with Global HQ and support services in Holland)
Term: 6 months initially - possibly longer (maternity cover)

Responsibilities include
Sales support including related administrative logistics and field service engineers - 3 direct reports and overall team of 12
Directing and managing the operational sales process ( not marketing)
Sales ( not marketing) logistics policy and protocol development and implementation of continuous improvement basis
Sales contract efficacy review and management
Establishing positive relationships within UK teams and with Dutch (parent) colleagues
Candidate profile
5 years' experience in a similar B2B role - but not necessarily in this product sector
Demonstrable knowledge of retail markets and supply chain logistics in an international organisation with a customer focus
Software user (hands-on capability) in Enterprise /EDI applications (M3 highly desirable)
Effective manager of on-line and telephone sales support team including coaching and mentoring capability
Track-record of driving continuous improvement and improving business efficiency with experience of in the B2B (and ideally B2C) environment of: KPI and SLA development and review plus process mapping and design
Qualified to degree levelResults orientated and completer finisher
Commercial awareness and capabilityGood communication skills with strong influencing skills
Team leader and player
