Supply Systems Analyst

This position serves as a staff Supply Systems Analyst in the Office of the Chief, Logistics at the Birmingham VA Medical Center located in downtown Birmingham, Alabama.
Provides troubleshooting and program assistance to personnel in analyzing and resolving operational program problems through the application of automated supply systems.
Acts as the primary source of expertise in matters regarding automated systems.
Plans the introduction of new hardware and computer programs.
Manages computer menu options and access for systems supported.
Reviews, coordinates, manages and makes recommendations to refine the Logistics Service processes and interrelated automated inventory system support programs.
Activities involve daily operations, special projects, reports development and analysis, projections, expenditure profiles and forecasts, paperwork management, bar code applications, capital and expendable materials inventory management, budget analysis, and other supply/ logistics related activities.
Serves as a liaison between Logistics Service and IT Service and customers; the primary Logistics computer programs support and tester; Trainer and implementation specialist for the major Supply/ Inventory/Fiscal/ Equipment Management programs; and assists in management of a total supply support inventory management system.
Performs other administrative duties as assigned such as preparing responses to official correspondence, present material at staff meetings, serves as Government Purchase Card holder or approver.

Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
