Department Name CENTRAL MONITORING Job Description POSITION SUMMARYNonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime) To observe patient monitors and report significant changes or abnormal patterns of heart rhythms to registered nurse.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma or GED and completion of Cardiac Arrhythmia Course required.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLSLogs patient data on an hourly basis and whenever necessary in the rhythm log book.
Records maintenance issues in maintenance log book and notifies appropriate personnel.
Restocks monitor area prior to end of each shift.
Ensures an organized work environment for assigned area.
Observes monitors, identifies significant rhythm changes and notifies patient's nurse of the data.
Records strips on patients each shift with significant changes.
Labels patient ECG strips and rhythm sheets and maintains in patient's chart.
