MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Department Name FACILITY MANAGEMENT SERVICES Job Description POSITION SUMMARYNonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime) To perform routine, preventive and emergency maintenance tasks.
To assist in repairs of all devices or systems included in the facilities equipment inventory as well as fixed building features such as lights, plumbing fixtures and equipment listed in the Building Maintenance Program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience required.
Work experience may substitute for minimum education requirement.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLSRepairs minor issues with cabinetry as needed.
Performs minor repairs on wheelchairs, stretchers and hospital beds.
Overall Core Job Responsibilities ratings Ensures sinks and toilets are all in working order.
Makes cosmetic repairs to walls and ceilings as needed.
Replaces ceiling tiles and cover bases as assigned.
Maintains all types of lighting throughout the facility.
Responds to issues with the nurse call system and repairs or calls for assistance from vendor when necessary.
