We are seeking a Transportation Engineering professional who possesses roadway design experience with large, complex transportation engineering solutions. Gresham, Smith and Partners has expansive growth opportunities for the right individual! Successful candidates should be able to: Conceptualize the initial design approach for phases of roadway projects. Develop roadway design plans under the direct supervision and guidance of Alabama Professional Engineers. Learn and develop various aspects of roadway projects in a team approach including geometric design, right-of-way plans, storm drainage design, utilities, signing and marking, and erosion control design. Coordinate projects within a design team and learn to communicate with clients, outside consultants and firm staff. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Minimum of 5 years' experience in transportation engineering. Some design experience with ALDOT roadway and or drainage design is preferred but not required. Knowledge of ALDOT standards and procedures is desired but not required. E.I.T. certification is minimum but prefer a Professional Engineer, P.E. licensure. Ability to communicate technical concepts in an understandable way to clients is desired. Knowledge and skill in MicroStation and CADD techniques and principles preferred. Inroads experience is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, project, and time management skills. Ability to be proactive in determining the necessary steps to meet objectives and performance expectations of position. Ability to work independently on multiple tasks. Strong communication (written and oral) skills. Ability to interact professionally and comfortably with a variety personalities and communication styles. Adept in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues. Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
