Licensed Practical Nurse--Gyn/Oncology--Wallace Tumor Institute

JOB SUMMARY: An Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing care to women , who are concerned about developing cancer, are diagnosed with cancer, who require rehabilitation to restore well being. The, Clinical Care Coordinator, specialized in Gynecologic cancer care, is knowledgeable about the complexities of the health system; serves as a consistent care coordinator across specialties, seamlessly, for the new patient by assessing the physical, psychological and social needs of the patient, plans health care pathways with the multidisciplinary care team, acts as a patient advocate, providing education and support for the patient and family in a caring and compassionate process which will enhance patient outcomes and increase patient and care provider satisfaction and provides community outreach through support groups, educational meetings and health fairs, etc. The Clinical Care Coordinator will serve as a liaison to all patients who present to the Clinic with problems or with a new diagnosis .
Position Requirements
Required: Degree from an accredited school of professional nursing. Five (5) years clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 (two) years of Oncology experience.
Must: (1) enter 4,000 keystrokes per hour; (2) possess basic knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management.
Preferred: BSN and experience in community interaction and outreach programs. Two (2) years of nursing experience +cancer treatment.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Required:
Current Alabama RN license
Current CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment
OCN Certification must be eligible to sit for exam and OCN obtained within 18 months of employment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
