Account Supervisor

The Weber Shandwick's Detroit office is currentlyseeking an Account Supervisor who is steeped in all things Public Affairs andMedia Relations. The candidate must maintain a thorough understanding of ourclient's industry and translate that knowledge into effective communicationsactivities. In this role, s/he will provide tactical counsel to clients, andmanage the implementation of a variety of earned media projects. The candidatewill anticipate client needs, proactively seek account leadership/client directionand address all client requests in a timely and through manner. The AccountSupervisor should seek ways to demonstrate the team's knowledge of and interestin the client's business. The candidate must have a successful track record ofperforming and monitoring the performance of others in areas such as mediapitching, writing, research, budgeting and account administration procedures.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a deep understanding of the client's needsand priorities
Generate ideas for media outreach as well aspersuasively pitch media and thoughtfully adjust angles as required
Develop media strategy documents, goals, mediatargets and pitch angles that require minimal input from senior team leadership
Breakdown and manage detailed tasks with the account teamassociated with planning and implementing robust communications plans
Work seamlessly with internal and external teamsto effectively leverage resources
Produce work that is on strategy, on budget, anddelivered with high quality
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients andprovide day-to-day client support and counsel
Demonstrate knowledge of top-tier traditional anddigital outlets with strong social followings
Have the ability to work well in a large andmatrixed agency and client organization
Ability to deliver media relations results throughclient programming, developing specific, client-appropriate relationships withrelevant media
Proactively consume traditional and social mediaoutlets that are relevant to client's business
Ability to work independently and as part ofinternal and external teams
Exhibit exceptional judgment when working withteam members, client contacts and vendors
Bachelor's Degree
4-7 years related professional experience
Experience in B2B automotive or automotive technology a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
