Job Description
Spire is seeking a Business & Metrics Analyst II to work in the Birmingham, Alabama operation. This position will be responsible for supporting the analytical and reporting needs of Distribution Operations including financial analytics, forecasting, development and monitoring new operational metrics and assisting in other projects related to utility operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Develop and maintain consistent operational and productivity metrics that support our strategic goals & emphasize the importance of using performance metrics as a means to encourage performance improvement
+ Participate in the development and maintenance of reporting and dashboards for Executive and Distribution Operations leadership
+ Coordinate with the leadership team in Distribution Operations and the corporate FP&A group with planning and forecasting
+ Utilize our enterprise wide applications to provide operational and financial analysis to Distribution Operations leadership for the purpose of managing. decision making continuous improvement
+ Create models and business cases for major projects with Distribution Operations (i.e. rate cases, labor agreements, new work practices, etc.)
+ Assist in the training and change management of new metrics, reports, and enhancements to enterprise wide applications utilized for reporting purposes
+ Work with the business to evaluate benchmark performance both internal to Distribution Operations as well as externally against other corporations outside Laclede Group for the purpose of developing best practices
+ Create summaries of financial and/or non-financial information and present to various levels throughout the organization

Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ None
Required Education: (may include certifications, licenses and registrations)
+ Bachelor?s degree in finance, accounting, or related areas of study. May consider candidates with extensive applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
+ Two to five years of experience in analytics and/or performance reporting
+ Experience in Distribution Operations practices preferred
+ Previous experience working with our enterprise wide applications strongly preferred
Physical demands, work environment and work schedule:
+ Normal Work Environment ? Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.
+ Typically 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Overtime and/or travel may be required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
