Associate Director Of Center For Teaching & Learning

Associate Director of Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will assist the CTL Director and will play a critical role in designing and executing professional development programs that improve the effectiveness of UAB faculty and other instructors in the areas of student learning and engagement through excellence in teaching across the UAB campus.
Assist and lead faculty development programs to advance the achievement of university learning goals and the University Strategic Plan, including initiatives supporting University accreditation and the Quality Enhancement Plan
Engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning, pursue internal and external grant funding for faculty and curriculum development and in support of the CTL programs
Assist, collaborate, and/or partner with individuals and organizations across the UAB campus to develop faculty and enhance student learning; specific areas include developing/improving courses, curricula, and learning environments as well as the interpretation of teaching evaluations
Design instructional resources that promote pedagogical methods appropriate to specific disciplinary settings and a diverse study body
Conduct consultations and classroom observation services for faculty and support teaching portfolio development
Work with the CTL Director on strategic planning and cultivating partnerships on campus to identify new needs and opportunities
Stay abreast of literature and best practices on teaching and learning and network with national groups and individuals
ANNUAL RATE OF PAY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Earned Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university and at least three (3) years of experience working in higher education. Related experience in theories of learning and curricular design, innovative teaching approaches, and grant writing expected. Earned PhD and one (1) year experience working in higher education acceptable substitution.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, an understanding of educational technology and learning management systems, demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across academic units, and the ability to lead engaging workshops with faculty are required to be successful in this role. Individuals who have coached faculty and staff on effective teaching and student engagement techniques are strongly encouraged to apply.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
