Dangerous Goods Agent, MON-FRI: 06:30pm-9:00pm

To ensure safe and legal handling of dangerous goods including: proper separation, palletizing and aircraft/truck loading. To ensure related dangerous goods paperwork is accurate, complete, and timely, including proper distribution to all necessary parties.
Duties:
Ensures all packages and aircraft/trucks have proper dangerous goods paperwork on all departures.
Ensures dangerous goods shipment is properly loaded, secured and palletized on outbound aircraft/trucks in accordance with FAA and FedEx policies and procedures.
Maintains file of all outbound hazardous shipments for designated amount of time.
Maintains current knowledge of dangerous goods with regard to proper certification, marking, labeling and packaging.
Maintains all dangerous goods manuals.
Audits flights and/or trucks to ensure field compliance with FAA and FedEx policies and procedures.
Inspect dangerous goods shipments at origin locations that accept packages in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Process dangerous goods shipments in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Performs spill cleanup efficiently, safely, and within procedural guidelines if required to perform the spill cleanup function.
Requirements:
High school diploma/G.E.D.
Six (6) months of related station, ramp, hub or safety experience preferred.
Related knowledge of shipping or processing dangerous goods packages strongly preferred.
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
Ability to complete all basic and recurrency training for dangerous goods.
If required to perform the spill clean-up function, must complete all basic and recurrency training for spill clean-up.
Must be able to read and understand manuals, regulations, charts and tables, and effectively communicate verbally in a time-sensitive manner in a noisy operations environment.
Current DG certification preferred.
Experience with computer, i.e., mainframe, PC, internet/intranet preferred.
If required to drive company vehicles or motorized conveyances as a regular part of job, must possess valid driver's license.
The incumbent(s) of this position is expected to perform all other related duties as assigned.
Note: Any employee who drives a Non-DOT revenue vehicle must have vision of at least 20/40 in each and both eyes with or without corrective lenses, at least 70 degrees peripheral vision in each eye, and recognize traffic signals and device showing standard red, green and amber colors.
Fingerprinting may be required for positions that have access to the U.S. Mail and SIDA. In addition, employees applying to designated facilities requiring U.S. Postal Service clearance must have resided in the U.S. for at least 5 years prior to application date, unless the period for foreign residence was due to active duty in the U.S. uniformed military services; trailing spouse or dependent of someone working for the U.S. government (military or civilian); missionary; student attending school in a foreign country; Peace Corps participant; employee of a U.S. based employer/company or other extraordinary circumstances. An individual who falls into one of the categories above may provide a letter of recommendation from his employer(s) and/or criminal history report, with translation from the country where he resided. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 seeking positions that handle or have access to the United States Postal Service (USPS) product must provide evidence of registration with the Selective Service or a Status Letter from Selective Service approving an exemption. In addition, all applicants/employees must provide proof of citizenship or legal work status authorizing the individual to work in the United States. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
