Budget Analyst

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for Budget Analysis.Typical work assignments will include:
Participates in the planning and development of budget estimates for the district. Monitors the use and rate of expenditure of budgeted funds through continuing communication with program officials and their staff, review of written documents, and examination of accounting records. Executes financial and administrative duties for a variety of programs assigned to the unit. Performs other related duties as assigned. Participating in short and long-range programmatic and budget planning; Preparing budget estimates and maintaining budget submissions; Conducting in-depth analysis of information and preparing statistical budget reports; Analyzing and identifying problematic trends and patterns during the budget execution process; Analyzing data and providing recommendations for cost reductions; Developing financial policies and procedures; Advising management officials Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is defined as developing federal budget estimates using knowledge of federal budget cycle and budget processes and procedures, reviewing submitted fund requests, writing and evaluating budget justifications, executing a federal budget, monitoring budgeted funds expenditure, examining accounting records, and producing complex budgetary reports. or Education:
One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Financial Management, Public Administration and Business Administration):
a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M, if related. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Experience:
Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years.(Transcripts required) GS-12:
To be qualified at the GS-12 level, you must possess the following specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as advising management on programmatic effectiveness relative to financial objectives; analyzing expenditure data affecting costs; providing in-depth analysis and advice pertaining to short and long-range financial management plans; managing obligations, expenditures and available balances; identifying and analyzing problematic trends and patterns; preparing for periodic audits and financial reviews; providing comprehensive technical advice and assistance. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
